INSB Class obtains RO status by Libyan Flag State

Effective 26th March 2021, we are pleased to announce that INSB Class has been delegated Recognized Organization status by the LIBYAN Ports & Maritime Transport Authority (LP & MTA) for ships of up to 500GT registered in the State of Libya.

The delegated functions entrusted to INSB Class consist of the performance of plan approvals, classification, statutory surveys and related certification under the Libya’s national legislative context as well as relevant Conventions as adopted by the State of Libya.

The Agreement validation event took place at the INSB Class Representation offices in Istanbul, Turkey at the presence of the President of Libyan Ports & Maritime Transport Authority, Eng. Omar A. Algawashi and its Director for Maritime Affairs, Eng. Rajab A. Haman.

INSB Class accredited ship classification and statutory services are now recognized by 37 flag states which showcases the growing confidence that INSB Class enjoys from maritime nations on international scale.

It is also consistent with the society’s strategic direction aiming to broaden its RO recognition and acceptability and therefore elevate and diversify its service portfolio for shipowners and operators alike while strengthening its relations and cooperation with national maritime Authorities and ship registers.
