QUALITY AND COMPLIANCE FOR OFFSHORE ASSETS

Steadily expanding our footprint within the offshore sector by undertaking an increasing number of survey and certification assignments in popular off shore regions, we assist owners, and operators of mobile off shore units address their safety, reliability, and performance needs.

INSB Class offshore classification and statutory compliance services are relevant and support the safe operation of various types of marine offshore units and floating installations, either engaged in oil exploration and drilling and/or in off shore production and support activities.

ASSET CLASSIFICATION

We support the international off shore service supply chains by offering classification and technical solutions for MODUs, FPSOs and FSUs, Accommodation Platforms and other floating installations and mobile off shore units.

Inspected offshore assets and floating installations are classified according to the pertinent INSB Class Rules for the Classification and Construction of Floating Installations and MODUs, which denote the acceptable degree of construction, stability and safety.

The Rules also consider provisions of other recognized standards, such as the IACS URs concerning MODU units, the IMO MODU Code, API RP, AISCASD, for the purpose of verification of the unit’s sound structure and fit-for purpose condition.

In the scope of the INSB classification process, our marine offshore activities include:

      • Review and Approval of unit’s design and corresponding engineering studies, manuals and plans, with applicable Rules & Standards;
      • Determination of intended class notation under INSB Class Rules, assigned following the satisfactory completion of surveys and verification compliance;
      • Performance of required class entry surveys with the inspection of several aspects of the asset’s structure (i.e. hull, equipment, electrical systems, fire-fighting requirements etc.);
      • Periodic scheduled surveys for maintenance of classification.
