Belize Flag | IMMARBE WARNING NOTICE FOR Unjustified non-compliance with the Self-Inspection Program
Warning Letter issued due to failure to comply with the enforced Self-Inspection Program launched on 26 March 2015 (MMN-15-01 and MMN-15-02, superseded by the MMN-19-006 on 23 December 2019 and by MMN-19-006r1 on 19 January 2021 see also INSB Class No PSC 26/2021
Self-Inspection Program along with its checklist was launched with the aim to provide an instrument to self-inspect Belize Flagged Vessels by its Master allowing the prompt identification of deficiencies and their rectification prior to a Port State Control Inspection as a proactive measure to avoid unnecessary detentions.
After 1 July 2021 if any Shipowner, ISM Operator and Master is found to continue not to
comply with the Self-Inspection program, the following fines will be applied:
- A Fine of USD 2,000.00 will be imposed.
- A Fine of USD 3,000.00 will be imposed if this non-compliance is found together
with a PSC Inspection resulting with 7 or more deficiencies. - A Fine of USD 5,000.00 will be imposed if this non-compliance is found together
with a PSC Inspection resulting in a Detention of the vessel. - A Fine of USD 10,000.00 will be imposed if the vessel submitted the Self-Inspection Checklist and it is detained after 10 days due to the submission of false
