Annual Testing of Voyage Data Recorders

The IMO has recently published circular MSC.1/Circ.1222/Rev.1, as can be found attached (changes from previous related IMO Circular are highlighted). This updates the requirements for the annual performance tests of voyage date recorders (VDRs) and simplified voyage data recorders (S-VDRs), as required by SOLAS Regulation V/18.8.

New requirements for the maintenance and inspection of LSA- Resolution MSC.402(96)

IMO Maritime Safety Committee’s 96th session adopted amendments to SOLAS regulations III/3 and III/20.

Amendments to SOLAS and relevant Codes entering into force in 2020

According to newly approved 4-year cycle of entry into force system (MSC.1/Circ.1481), amendments to SOLAS and relevant codes, which were adopted between 1st January, 2016 and 30th June, 2018 (MSC 96th to MSC 99th) enters into force from 1st January, 2020.
